Panther Robotics was very productive this week. With a little more than half of the build season finished, the team finalized the robot design, including the hook mechanism. This design will allow the robot to hang from the tower on the game field for bonus points at the end of the match. The build committee has begun the assembly of the final robot. The base of the robot is complete and the motors are mounted.
The programming committee has completed many of the functions that the robot will need to operate. They have added three modes that can be used for kicking in each zone of the field. This will allow the robot the opportunity to score more points. The committee also worked on programming the motors used in the kicking mechanism.
A new round of updates has been added to the team website, pantherrobotics.com. The committee is also working on the teaser videos which will be posted soon. Work will soon begin on a three minute video to be submitted with the Chairman’s application.
The Chairman’s committee has continued working on the essay and executive summary which highlights the team’s accomplishments. They have also sent invitations for the Greater Kansas City Regional to 75 Kansas City area schools. The regional is March 5 and 6 at Hale Arena. Team members will be guiding school tours and providing game analysis in the stands. Schools may designate students as members of the Jr. Pit Crew who will receive behind-the-scenes tours of team pit areas.
