Competing in the first weekend of FIRST Regional Competitions in Kansas City, the Panther Robotics Team and their robot "Ruby" steered themselves into a solid fifth place overall with two more qualfying matches to play on Saturday morning. The Panthers have had an up and down regional so far, as they were victimized during Thursday's practice round by having their trailer stolen from the parking lot behind the arena. The team lost several items in the crime, but most of their competition needs had already been unloaded. On a high note, the Panthers were awarded the Xerox Creativity Award for the second consecutive year at the regional. The KC Regional will conclude today with final qualifying matches, the Championship Round and Awards Ceremony.
